Shauneen Furlong
Independent Consultant
Territorial Communications Ltd.


Shauneen Furlong is an independent consultant who lectures on e-government and project management with the University of Toronto and around the world.Over the last six months, she has presented and worked in the Middle East,Europe, Washington, East Africa, and with the Conference Board of Canada.

She has recent senior executive level and management experience in a numberof Government of Canada central agencies and departments over a period of 20years, most recently Executive Director, Government On-Line, Government ofCanada. She is one of a handful of Canadian executives who were part of thepolicy development and implementation team in the Treasury Board Secretariatthat initiated the Government On-Line initiative across the federalgovernment, and then moved on to being responsible to deliver GOL within afederal regulatory department. Prior to working in Treasury Board, Shauneenworked in the Department of Finance under Canada's Prime Minister who, asMinister of Finance, funded the GOL initiative.

Ms. Furlong was nominated by IT World Canada as being one of Canada's keye-government drivers, and was profiled by Computer World Canada as a chartermember of Canada's first MBA in Project Management. She has participated aspart of the Canadian delegation at the WITSA (World Information Technologyand Services Alliance) Conference in Australia in 2002 and Athens in 2004.

She has published articles, and is on the Advisory Committee for theAthabasca University MBA program; IT World Canada, On-Line Editor AdvisoryBoard; and the CATA Women in Technology National Advisory Board. She has aBachelor's degree in Philosophy; a Master's degree in BusinessAdministration Economics, and a Master's degree in Project Management.
