CanWIT BC Chapter Presents

Leadership Essentials for Women in Technology

A 2011 Conference Board of Canada report indicates that women are still under-represented as leaders in this country. In fact, not much has changed in the past 22 years despite studies which reveal that organizations with inclusive work environments with representation from women leaders are more innovative and profitable.

Join us on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 for a breakfast session that focuses on how women can gain prominence and visibility at work. Insights will be shared based on a book co-authored by the speaker, Dianne Cyr, entitled, "Scaling the Ivory Tower: Stories from Women in Business School Faculties."

While the stories are from women academics, the lessons are timeless and include work-life balance, as well as the role of mentors and networking. In addition, tactics for how to gain power and influence will be discussed.
