Events

With the goal to provide Ottawa professionals with the skills and resources needed for career success, CATA WIT develops on-going professional development and networking series for women in technology and IT-related fields. Attending these events will not only provide a great environment for meeting interesting women in the industry, but also the opportunity to learn practical skills, and find new resources for advancing your career.

Natural Born Leaders: Women Who Make & Break the Chain of Command

2009/10 Professional Development Series

In the world of technology, we can pretty much guarantee that the only guarantee is change! As colleagues, as managers, as teams, we all need to adapt to this change, and in many cases, lead it.

As women we are lucky to naturally lean toward (statistically speaking at least!) a more creative, empathetic and collaborative leadership style. Whether you are leading as a manager or as a contributing team member, successful women will tell you that to survive and thrive in the current environment and impact a new generation of team members, it takes a constant analysis of your skills to realize your natural strengths and improve them. To help build on our statistically- and genetically-given gifts, CATA WIT Ottawa Forum will be focusing our 2009/10 year on a series of workshops to build leadership in ourselves, our teams and our organizations.

Please take part in our collaborative and creative 5-part leadership series that's comprised of skills development seminars, peer-learning sessions and professional networking opportunities. The workshop series will help to create a view of your leadership strengths and build onto your leadership expertise. We've collaborated with tech-related leaders (who else?!) in the Ottawa environment and have developed a series that will help you learn more of your natural talents, identify leadership qualities in your team and ease your new skills into the work place.
