WIT Ottawa Special Event
October 22, 2007

Nortel Network's Women's Business Council is pleased to invite CATA WIT Forum members to attend a special panel discussion on future global trends in telecommunications technology led by Mr. John Roese, Nortel's CTO.

The session brings together leaders from industry and education for an interactive discussion on what companies and employees who want to stay ahead of the curve in this industry need to do to secure and maintain market leadership. They will talk about global markets, business strategies and key skills that will be required to keep up with the evolution of the industry.

The panelists for this event are:

Dr. Hanan Anis, an associate professor at Ottawa University’s School of Information Technology and former chief technology officer at Ceyba, an optical long-haul networking company.

John Thompson, an executive of Silk Telecom in Australia. Silk Telecom has combined the fresh outlook of a new enterprise with the proven experience of two established companies to form a competitive new telecoms carrier.

John Roese, Chief Technology Officer for Nortel, where he is responsible for leading the company's overall R&D strategy and execution and for directing future research across all product portfolios. He also works closely with the Chief Strategy Officer on emerging technologies, market opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
