Bursaries for the Management Development Program for Women (MDPW)
March 6, 2009

CATA WIT Forum would like to make you aware of this special management development opportunity which is open to women working in high tech companies:

CREWW

The Centre for Research and Education on Women and Work (CREWW) at the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, is pleased to announce the launch of 5 new Bursaries for the Management Development Program for Women (MDPW).

The Management Development Program for Women (MDPW) is a part-time professional program designed to provide working women with an opportunity to develop their management skills in a supportive environment, while having an opportunity to discuss the particular challenges that women face in management. The program meets for 3 days a week, once a month, for 10 months and covers all functional areas of business. The program is designed to facilitate the transfer of learning from the classroom to the workplace. Workplace based assignments require participants to integrate new theories and skills with data and experience drawn from their own work setting.

The 5 new full Bursaries from the Leacross Foundation / R. Bern, will enable 5 deserving women in the High Tech, Trades and Not for Profit sectors to pursue the Management Development Program for Women beginning this Fall, 2009 - 2010 Academic Year. Valued at $7,000 each, these Bursaries are targeted for women who meet the program's application criteria, who's workplace is less than 500 employees, who have worked for more than three years in their sector and who intend to continue employment in these sectors.
