Ottawa, April 22, 2008 - CATA would like to announce that the deadline for nominations for the Sara Kirke Award for Canada's Leading Women High Tech Entrepreneur is May 15th.
The Sara Kirke Award, sponsored this year by the Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, is presented to the woman who has shown outstanding technological innovation and corporate leadership -- leadership that has significantly expanded the frontiers of Canada's advanced technology and bio-tech industry.

The CATA WIT Forum Selection Committee for the Sara Kirke Award is chaired by Dr. Barbara Orser, Deloitte Professor in the Management of Growth Enterprises, Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, and a member of the CATA WIT National Advisory Council. "We need more of these types of recognition programs for women in Canada to stimulate demand and recognize role model women in our communities for their contributions of leadership and excellence" said Dr. Orser.

The winner of this year's Sara Kirke Award will be announced at CATA's Innovation Awards Gala on June 10th, at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. For more than two decades, the CATAAlliance Innovation Awards Gala has been celebrating the best in Canadian innovation. CTV Host, Paul Brent will be returning as the guest MC and moderator of a stellar CEO Panel of High Tech business leaders focusing on the keys to world class success.
